TAVAC is an acronym for the SAGES Technology and Value Assessment Committee. We will publish Technology Alerts on a monthly basis and longer safety and efficacy reviews on an irregular basis. A Tech Alert from the TAVAC Committee is an article reviewing recently approved new devices by the FDA. These devices range from surgical devices used in laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and minimally-invasive surgery. Tech Alerts are not endorsements of new surgical devices but rather articles meant to increase public knowledge about FDA new devices.
