Gastrostomy tubes, whether placed surgically or endoscopically are the most common form of durable enteral access. Although generally considered a low risk procedure, procedural complications such as dislodgement and leak can cause significant patient morbidity contributing to hemodynamic instability and sepsis. Surgical revision is generally considered first line therapy for such complications, but endolumenal techniques provide an alternative to traditional operative therapy for stable patients. This video will demonstrates a variety of endoscopic methods available to revise a gastrostomy and obviate the need for formal surgical revision.
