Monique Hassan
Assistant Professor of Surgery
Baylor Scott & White
Temple

I am a metabolic and bariatric surgeon and Assistant professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
I completed my fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Cleveland Clinic. I joined the Baylor Scott and White Department of Surgery in Temple, TX, where I am focused on the treatment and management of obesity. I specialize in laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive and revisional surgical procedures, such as sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, duodenal switch, endoscopy, and the placement of intragastric balloons. My practice is 100% robotic bariatric surgery.
I hold certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, as well as the Focus Practice Designation for Bariatric Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. I also hold a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in Health Care Quality from The George Washington University School of Business.
I am married and enjoy spending time with family and traveling the world. I am also an avid fitness fan, crushing my Peloton rides under the leaderboard name of boujeebypassdoc and participating in CrossFit workouts in my home garage gym.
