Time is running out to apply for SAGES Research Grants and the Career Development Award.
SAGES Research Grants
The SAGES Research Awards are open to any principal investigator who is a SAGES member, including Candidate Members. SAGES would like to especially encourage grant funding to young investigators/candidate members in the hopes that funding through SAGES will lead to additional extramural funding. Awards are conferred on a competitive basis by submission of a grant application, which is reviewed and evaluated by the SAGES Research Committee and approved by the Governing Board.
Deadline for submission of all Research Grant Applications is November 1, 2013
SAGES Career Development Award
The focus of the Career Development Award, a SAGES Foundation supported project, is to provide funding for a young surgeon or surgeon-in-training for the development of critical skills required for their academic career in gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery. The intent of this award is to provide significant protected time, equivalent to 6 months without clinical obligation. This can take the form of a delay in the start of a faculty role or ongoing residency training or a reduced clinical role for supplemental training/traveling fellowship or intense research time. This grant will provide the awardee with a unique educational opportunity that would not otherwise be available. Awards are conferred on a competitive basis by submission of a grant application, which is reviewed and evaluated by the SAGES Research & Career Development Committee and approved by the Governing Board.
Deadline for submission of all Career Development Applications is November 30, 2013
