Aneurysms of the splenic artery are being diagnosed with greater frequency as incidental findings on cross-sectional imaging. The prevalence has been reported between 0.2 to 10.4%.
This was a 55 yo woman, who was being evaluated for kidney stones, and she was incidentally diagnosed with splenic artery aneurysm. Surgical treatment was decided, performing a laparoscopic resection of the splenic artery aneurysm.
