Enucleation of benign leiomyoma of the esophagus is the accepted method of resection, but may be challenging where involvement of the lower esophageal sphincter is extensive. We present a successful minimally invasive operation for resection of a near circumferential GE junction leiomyoma, with optimal preservation of the vagus nerves and the lower esophageal sphincter mechanism.
