Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (tem): Resection of a 3cm Polypoid Mass Above the 2nd Valve of the Rectum

Endoluminal surgery has enjoyed renewed interest in the age of NOTES. Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) represents the only established experience to date of endoluminal surgery. Demonstrated is a TEM submucosal, partial full thickness local excision of a 3cm polyp based on the 2nd valve. The resultant defect is closed primarily.
