We present a case of a 57 year old male with a right retroperitoneal myxofibrosarcoma involving the right liver, right kidney and the diaphragm. Post neoadjuvant chemoradiation, the patient was deemed an appropriate surgical candidate after a multidisciplinary tumor board discussion.
Due to the complex nature of this lesion, patient underwent an enblock multivisceral resection including a right hepatectomy, right nephrectomy, right adrenalectomy and diaphragm resection with mesh reconstruction. Surgical resection was performed using the DaVinci Xi robotic system. Oncologic principles were strictly adhered to. Operative time was 440 minutes. Estimated blood loss was 250 mL. All margins were negative on final pathology.
To the best of our knowledge, our video demonstrates the first documented case of a robotic enblock multivisceral resection for a retroperitoneal sarcoma.
