Presented is a case of laparoscopic and robotic esophagectomy with a modification in technique by using continuous ICG mode during dissection of the gastroepiploic artery. Preservation of the gastroepiploic artery is essential to conduit perfusion and preventing anastomotic leak. We find ICG as a useful adjunct to esophagectomy: not only does it allow for confirmation of conduit perfusion via ICG illumination at the time of anastomosis, there is enhanced visualization of the gastroepiploic artery during dissection.
