1. Objective of the technology or device:
enlightenVue platform is a single-use 2mm micro-endoscope with 2 working channels that can be used for both diagnostic and interventional procedures with high-definition image quality. The single-use, cost effective micro-endoscope is the ideal solution to increase the number of less invasive procedures in many specialties, and multiple clinical settings while also offering unmatched protection against hospital acquired infections.
2. Description of the technology and method of its use or application
enlightenVue is a development stage company creating unique micro-endoscope portfolio. The first generation device (Fig 1) is a single-use flexible 2mm outer diameter micro-endoscope that will incorporate multiple channels, along with a HD-like camera and a unique high-intensity laser-light illumination. This micro-endoscope incorporates a patented design (US9913570B2) allowing 1mm instruments to pass through the device for both diagnostic and interventional procedures.Since it is a single-use instrument, the performance of each endoscope will be consistent for every procedure, while also protecting against infections caused by difficult reprocessing and sterilization of traditional re-usable endoscopes. The image processing module is compatible with all PC’s and monitors.

enlightenVue has application in different therapeutics area like urology, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery, GYN, infertility, pediatrics among others. It includes two working/operative channel for suction, irrigation and instruments passage, physicians can use it for a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Major advantages of the platform are:
a. The power to do interventional office based procedures with a 2mm endoscope
b. Eliminates the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections
c. Access to better reimbursements through interventional procedures
d. Eliminates downtime and inventory logistics associated with reusable endoscopes
e. Eliminates the sterilization and personnel costs associated with reusable endoscopes
3. Preliminary results if available
Currently the design of the first generation of enlightenVue is frozen and it is undergoing verification and validation testing for 510k FDA application.
4. Conclusions / future directions
enlightenVue is an innovative single-use platform of micro-endoscopes with features that result in significant advantages and benefits for the healthcare system, the clinician and the patient. The next generation of the platform will incorporate minor design changes to address specific therapeutic areas.
