Ezra Teitelbaum
Associate Professor of Surgery
Northwestern University
Chicago, IL

My clinical focuses are in foregut, bariatric, and biliary surgery, as well as surgical endoscopy. I enjoy speaking on topics related to achalasia (Heller and POEM), hiatal/paraesophageal hernia repair and fundoplication, cholecystectomy/cholangiography, and bariatric surgery (with a focus on endoscopic treatment of bariatric surgery complications). For the last 10 years I have been involved in the development and dissemination of a simulator-based curriculum to teach laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) and giving general surgeons the tools to incorporate LCBDE into their practices is a passion of mine. In terms of my speaking style, I aim to focus on core principles, operative strategy, and clinically decision-making. I have video-recorded every case I've done since residency and I think it's extremely helpful to include operative video examples (drawn from this library of 1000s of cases) in every talk I give.
