I am an Assistant Professor of Surgery and the Medical Director of the Esophageal Swallowing Center at a tertiary referral, academic center. I completed my residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC and did both a two-year research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH focused on abdominal core health with Dr. Michael Rosen and a one-year clinical fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC focused on minimally invasive bariatric and foregut surgery with Dr. Timothy Farrell. I am double board certified in general surgery and obesity medicine. My clinical interest is focused primarily on foregut surgery and hernia surgery in addition to bariatric surgery. My research is focused on prehabilitation, compartive effectiveness, health care disparities, and clinical outcomes. My favorite part about being asked to speak is the opportunity to share ideas and learn from others.
