I am the Division Chief of General Surgery at Valleywise Health, the only safety net hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. My practice focuses on MIS (laparoscopic & robotics), foregut, HPB, and acute care surgery. I am also involved in our Creighton Phoenix Surgical Residency Program and also in teaching the numerous medical students that rotate through our department. I am an Associate Professor of Surgery at both Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. I have heavily been involved in both state and federal health care policy and advocacy for over 20 years, and fully believe that it is vital for all surgeons to participate on behalf of our patients and our profession.
