As a minimally invasive surgeon in a busy community practice I enjoy speaking about my areas of expertise including management of hiatal hernia, reflux, gastric tumors, primary and revisional bariatric surgery, and acute care surgery. I am also an experienced robotic surgeon, having worked with the daVinci platform since 2009 and have served as a proctor for that system. I began speaking first as an ATLS instructor in 1994 and have given lectures for medical students and residents at Brown University, the University of Maryland, and the Uniformed Services University where I served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. While serving in the US Navy I was an instructor in the Combat Lifesaving Course, and taught first aid skills to sailors, soldiers, and marines from several allied nations. Since entering community practice I have given numerous talks to medical staff, ancillary staff, first responders, and community groups. I have also had the opportunity to present several times at national conferences including SAGES, ACS, and DDW.
