13th Annual St. Louis Live Therapeutic Endoscopy Course (CME)
This activity is designed for gastroenterologists, surgeons, primary care physicians, residents and fellows, physician assistants, nurse practitioners
and gastroenterology nurses. This course will provide education through lectures, audience question and answer, and presentation of live therapeutic endoscopy procedures transmitted from the Endoscopy Unit in the Center for Advanced Medicine to the Eric P. Newman Education Center. The goal is to highlight best practice techniques across the broad spectrum of therapeutic endoscopy. Washington University Interventional Endoscopy Section faculty, as well as nationally known therapeutic endoscopists from peer institutions, will serve as faculty with in-room commentary, lectures, live sessions moderating and facilitating discussion during and between cases and lectures. The intended result of this live activity is to increase knowledge, competence and performance in advanced therapeutic endoscopy techniques. At the conclusion of the seminar, attendees should be able to:
• Discuss the latest approach to endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of Barrett’s
• Review the basics of endoscopic submucosal dissection and its current indications
• Discuss the endoscopic management of benign and malignant biliary diseases
• Outline the role of EUS, particularly in avoiding unnecessary ERCP
• Hands-On Session: Demonstrate latest endoscopic procedures
Optional Thursday Hands-On Sessions: This workshop offers participants the opportunity to work one on one at hands-on stations with our expert faculty as they demonstrate the latest techniques in ERCP, EUS, endoscopic suturing, enteral stenting, endoscopic mucosal resection, ablation of Barrett’s esophagus and endoscopic bariatric therapy.
