This video shows the performance, results, and concepts behind of a new antireflux procedure, the Nissen-Hill hybrid. The operation evolved from a randomized controlled trial comparing the Nissen and Hill repairs. In that study all objective and quality of life outcomes were equivalent, but there were differences in recurrences patterns, suggesting that by combining the two repairs into one, the relative strength of each repair would offset the weakness of the other. The Nissen-Hill hybrid has now been tested in over 400 patients with results that appear superior to either independent operation.
