TAMIS is a rapidly developing approach to high-quality excision of rectal neoplasia. It is best suited for lesions in the lower and mid-rectum, but TAMIS can be used to perform local excision of lesions as proximal as 15 cm from the anal verge. This video demonstrates excision of a malignant polyp 12 cm from the anal verge along the left anterolateral rectal wall. The excision resulted in inadvertent entry into the peritoneal cavity, resulting in luminal collapse. This necessitated laparoscopic assisted closure, and the surgical approach is demonstrated in video format.
