This video showed technical steps for robotic total pancreatosplenectomy for a patient with diffuse intraductal papillary mucinous tumor. We used the daVinci Si robotic system for the entire procedure in one docking position. There were 14 steps altogether. The procedure could be divided into three stages: the first stage involved dissection and mobilization of distal pancreas and spleen in one unit, the second stage – proximal pancreatic dissection and completion total pancreatosplenectomy, and the third (last stage) was the reconstruction. The video demonstrated the feasibility, efficiency, and safety of the technique. The totally robotic approach with single docking position was also proven to be economical as well.
