Diaphragmatic defect repair can be challenging when performed open or laparoscopic due to the location of the defect. A robotic repair can provide better visualization and utilizes wrist articulation to allow for primary closure of the defect and mesh placement in this anatomically challenging site. This video demonstrates robotic repair of a chronic traumatic diaphragmatic rupture with mesh.
