In this video we present a laparoscopic repair of a lower esophageal perforation following Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band placement.
On routine swallow study after the operation a large leak was demonstrated and esophagoscopy showed the band in the esophageal lumen. We present the method of repair.
We also discuss the anatomical landmarks that should be identified in LAGB and present some guidelines to avoid such injury and ensure, even in difficult cases, a smooth and safe placement of the gastric band.
