The University of Michigan is seeking candidates for a fulltime clinical track surgeon to lead the Section of General Surgery’s efforts at the new Brighton Center for Specialty Care, opening in September 2018. This individual will lead proactive development of the surgical referral base, establish clinical care protocols, and coordinate multi-specialty clinics. The role will be supported by surgeons of all specialties within General Surgery.
The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, founded in 1850, is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, education and research. The University of Michigan Department of Surgery has a busy general surgery practice, and is interested in candidates with special interest or expertise in laparoscopic hernias. This individual’s personal practice will be focused on minimally invasive surgery or surgical oncology.
Requirements include completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery and applicants must be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery. Prior administrative leadership experience and sub-specialty training in minimally-invasive procedures is desirable. The academic rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s credentials.
