Trauma/Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery position in New Orleans, LA

Job Description

Tulane University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery is currently seeking candidates for two clinical faculty positions in Trauma/Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery at the assistant or associate professor level.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates should have satisfactorily completed a training program in general surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and be board certified, or eligible if recently trained, and eligible for licensure in Louisiana. Fellowship training in trauma and critical care is required.

The clinical practice associated with this position will be based at Tulane University Hospital and Clinics and Our Lady of the Lake (OLOL) Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. The applicant will help in the process of making OLOL, currently a Level II Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center. Additional responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate medical education. Applicants with a strong interest in the training of residents and medical students are desired.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trauma/critical care surgeon interested in developing a growing trauma program and incorporating the academic aspects of a busy and diverse surgical service.
