Virtua Surgical Group is looking to add a BC/BE General Surgeon to join our employed general surgery group in southern NJ (15 miles east of Philadelphia). Our new partner will be joining a respected practice and have the opportunity to be operating consistently from the onset. Our patient mix includes both inpatient referrals and a busy elective practice. In the last few years, the Virtua Surgical Group also has developed a rapidly growing Robotic/Minimally Invasive Hernia Program that is a leader in the market and is an Epicenter/Observation Site for Intuitive Surgical. We are looking to add a general surgeon who believes in the benefits of a minimally invasive approach to provide the best care for their patients. Prior robotic experience is appreciated but not required as there is opportunity for mentorship as your practice and experience grows.
With the support of both a dedicated robotic team and hospital administration, our robotic program has completed more than 850 general surgery robotic cases in the last two years. General surgeons have dedicated block time and daily access to two Xi dual console systems for both elective and emergent procedures. Our team has completed as many as 8 cases in a day with a case mix that includes inguinal, ventral, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction/component separation (TAR) and revisional foregut/hiatal hernia surgery.
Being a part of Virtua Surgical Group means that you are a part of Virtua Medical Group (VMG), a non-profit group that includes over 500 employed clinicians in over 100 locations in South Jersey. VMG offers outstanding benefits, paid malpractice, paid vacation time, CME stipend, loan forgiveness, and competitive salary. Virtua has a culture of respect, support and continual learning that makes Virtua Medical Group who we are. Our warm, patient-focused culture has developed through very specific values that are well understood and reinforced across our organization, day in and day out. It’s this attention to detail that has placed Virtua Health System among the Philadelphia Business Journal’s” Best Places to Work” — Eleven years in a row.
