The Department of Surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the department in the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery for academic year 2021-22.
The Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) provides surgical care for a broad spectrum of diseases including benign foregut and biliary disease, hernia and abdominal wall deficits, and obesity. The Division is also a referral center for revisional surgery and complex disease. Current MIS faculty are fellowship-trained surgeons who are nationally and internationally known and perform a wide variety of laparoscopic and robotic surgery and endoscopy. The MIS Division works collaboratively with gastroenterology and other specialities and partners with other disciplines in research activity in clinical outcomes and quality improvement, disparity and education. The faculty of the Division of MIS are committed to excellence in teaching and compassionate patient care. We nurture a collegial partnership among faculty and advanced practice and support personal faculty development. The preferred candidate will have expertise in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery and a dedication to surgical education and scientific discovery. The candidate must have a MD or DO and should have completed a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship by time of employment. The candidate must be Board-certified/board-eligible in General Surgery through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery or equivalent. The candidate must be eligible for medical licensure in Maryland. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching and research is expected. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
