The Department of Surgery, Section of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking an academically oriented and qualified surgeon to join our faculty. Applications are invited for the position of Chief of General Surgery at the West Haven Veteran’s Administration (VA) and as an Associate Professor of Surgery, in the Section of General Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine. The position will involve 6/8ths effort at the VA and 2/8ths effort at Yale School of Medicine/Yale Medicine.
We are seeking candidates with an outstanding academic record in research, clinical care and education. Candidates will have exceptional leadership talent and interpersonal skills and the commitment to make important contributions to the field of General Surgery. In addition to program planning and development at the VA, candidates should also have a strong background in quality assurance, educational and operational issues.
Candidates should have experience in General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery. In addition, candidates who have completed a Minimally Invasive and/or Bariatric Fellowship will have priority, but it is not mandatory. Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
