Practices in an expanded role to provide health care to Pre and Post Bariatric Surgical patients; acts independently or collaboratively with other health professionals in the delivery of health care services; provides teaching and consultation; performs comprehensive physical examinations; performs appropriate medical screening procedures; interprets laboratory data; recognizes abnormalities in laboratory values and provides services or treatments; answer patient questions and triage problems to the surgeon; provides teaching and counseling that teaches patients to become responsible for their own healthcare. Participates in education, performance improvement; collaborates with the Bariatric Team in support of quality improvement and institutional policies; actively participates in institutional committees. Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; effective time management and organizational skills; self-directed and the ability to make independent decisions with strong problem solving skills; meet tight deadlines, with high volumes and multiple interruptions; competency in the use of variety of software systems. Must attend Bariatric staff and committee meetings; return patient telephone messages promptly, and participate in offsite functions. Requirements: 1.
