ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of Nevada Las Vegas is seeking a Minimally Invasive Surgeon to be an integral part of our faculty. This full time opportunity is an excellent opportunity to join a collegial team that is passionate about providing clinically excellent and compassionate care to all patients while educating and training surgery fellows and residents. This is a Full-Time non-tenured position with a varied work schedule and a rotational-shared call schedule (day, night and weekends).
This opportunity offers highly competitive benefits, rank, and salary commensurate with qualifications. The ideal candidate must be an MD or DO, Board Certified General Surgeon who has completed fellowship or has training in minimally invasive surgery. Interested candidates should also have a strong interest in teaching fellows, residents and medical students. Preference will be given to applicants who perform a broad range of laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Participation in general surgery is required.
This position requires a MD or DO, Board Certified General Surgeon, who has completed a fellowship or additional training in Minimally Invasive (robotic) Surgery from a regionally accredited college or university. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
Pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) 3 passed by the Nevada State Legislature during the 31st Special Legislative Session, employees are required to take furlough at a 4.6 percent monthly reduction in compensation from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
