MIS–Bariatric Surgeon
Boston
Full-Time / Attending Surgeon
Hospital Positions
Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (SOM) are jointly recruiting a board-certified/board-eligible, fellowship-trained surgeon to join the Section of Minimally Invasive and Weight Loss Surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced GI/MIS, bariatric, and foregut surgery. An interest in abdominal wall reconstruction is a plus. In addition to adult weight loss surgery, we are partnered with Boston Children’s Hospital, where we perform 20 to 30 adolescent weight loss surgeries per year. The MIS-Bariatric Surgery team places a high priority on the training and education of general surgery residents and medical students and on improving care through research.
BMC is a 514-bed academic medical center located in Boston’s historic South End. The largest safety-net hospital in New England, BMC provides consistently excellent and accessible health care to all. BMC is the primary teaching affiliate of the Chobanian & Avedisian SOM, a highly ranked medical school dedicated to urban and international health and a recognized leader in groundbreaking medical research.
BMC and the Chobanian & Avedisian SOM are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce and encourage candidates who can contribute to the diversity, inclusion, and equity of our community through their research, teaching, and/or service to apply. As such, applicants are strongly encouraged to include a brief diversity statement in their cover letter or CV.
Candidates should forward a letter of interest and CV to Maureen Demmert, via email: [email protected]. Please include “AY24GS10” in the subject line.
