NYU Langone Health is seeking a dynamic, full time, entry/mid-level attending in the Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery to join the faculty at our NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn campus. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills including colonoscopy, robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic skills, as well as an interest in surgical education. In addition to strong clinical abilities, the successful candidate should have a commitment to teaching in an academic center – this role is dedicated solely to the practice of Colon and Rectal Surgery and to growing NYU Langone Health as a Rectal Cancer Center of Excellence. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who is interested in being part of a busy and growing practice in Brooklyn, New York. The successful candidate will be considered for an appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the NYU Langone School of Medicine, commensurate with experience and achievements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care services including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care, preventative and health care maintenance to patients
- Implement and enforce clinical policies with Chief of Surgery, Department Chair, Chief Medical Officer, and other providers to continuously provide high quality, comprehensive patient care
- Responsible for supervision of assigned or other advance practice providers (physician assistants and nurse practitioners) at the clinical site as applicable
- Assist with training, orientation and clinical support for new providers, advance practice providers, and clinical support staff
- Supervise residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers within division
- Provide academic mentorship for all division attendings, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers
- Generate and support divisional attending with research objectives. This includes clinical, outcomes, health services, basic science, translational, ethics, education, or global surgery
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery and fellowship trained in Colon and Rectal Surgery
Faculty members must be committed to delivering high-quality clinical care that is of value to the patients in our community. In addition, faculty members are expected to participate in collaborative hospital-wide committees. The selected candidate must be team-oriented and be able to interact well with colleagues inside and outside the division.
The position will be physically located at NYULH Brooklyn, one of the four hospitals within, the NYULH system in the New York metropolitan area, a provisional Level 1 Trauma Center in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn.
