General/Bariatric Surgery Position in Illinois

Description

Carle Health is seeking an additional  BE/BC General/Bariatric Surgeon  to join  our established Bariatrics team in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

Position Details Include:

  • Candidates should have completed an  ACGME-accredited surgery  residency; Experience in Bariatric Surgery required, fellowship training is preferred
  • Join a busy, ready-made practice with 2 other BC surgeons, 3 Advanced Practice Providers, and Registered Dietitians
  • Cases will primarily consist of Bariatric Surgery with a mix of General Surgery cases
  • Endoscopy and Critical Care services available onsite; candidates that have an interest in performing Endoscopy procedures are welcome to apply
  • Excellent call schedule; weekend rotation will be 1:12 and weekday evening rotation will be 1:6 (Mon-Fri 8-5 covered by ACS team) when fully staffed
  • Practice will be at our newly built clinic and surgeries will be performed at our new, 23,000 square-foot ASC facility and Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana
  • Carle Foundation Hospital is a 453-bed Level I Trauma Center with a Bariatric program that is accredited by the MBSAQIP and recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center (BDC)/BDC Plus
  • Opportunity for academic and/or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the nation’s first medical school focused at the intersection of healthcare and engineering
  • Opportunity to teach residents through our ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program at Carle Foundation Hospital and medical students through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine
