The Division of Surgery at Northern Navajo Medical Center, part of the Indian Health Service, is seeking a general surgeon with Minimally Invasive Surgery/Bariatric Surgery training. Candidates without fellowship training will also be considered.

Candidates must be comfortable with broad scope general surgery including acute care surgery and endoscopy. The candidate is expected to practice the spectrum of general surgery in addition to minimally invasive hernia repair and bariatric surgery. Northern Navajo Medical Center has a small bariatric surgery program, with dedicated support from a medical metabolic clinic, psychology, and nutrition. There is ample room to grow this program into a busier bariatric surgery practice. The candidate will also serve as an educator to students and residents.

Applicants must be US citizens, be American Board of Surgery certified/eligible, hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia and be proficient in spoken and written English.

The selected candidate for this position will be eligible for the Indian Health Service Loan Repayment Program, as well as Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
