Bariatric Center for Excellence is seeking an experienced bariatric surgeon to serve in the role as medial director. Candidate will be expected to perform bariatric procedures and oversee their hospital based bariatric surgery program. The candidate must meet Center for Excellence Medical Director criteria.

The hospital is offering an excellent compensation and benefit package that that includes sign-on and production bonuses, health insurance, dental/vision insurance, 401K, malpractice coverage, loan reimbursement, CME, and relocation expenses.

The hospital is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 25 mid-Missouri counties.

The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation. The hospital employs over 1600 on its staff and 350 physicians on the medical staff. It is licensed by the state of Missouri and accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC). The hospital is currently a Magnet Hospital for its nursing excellence and has also been named the number one hospital in central Missouri and number five overall hospital in the state by U.S. News and World Report. It is the only hospital in mid-Missouri with a 5-star rating from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

The city of Columbia and the area has a lot to offer. From picturesque parks and clever cuisine to amazing art and superb shopping, visitors find that Columbia is ‘more than a college town and surprisingly sophisticated.

Columbia is a cool neighborhood in a big city, with a young vibe, an active buzz and an engaged community. It is also a friendly and welcoming community, with a thriving downtown and an abundance of cultural opportunities. Columbia is consistently rated among the top cities in the nation by national magazines and organizations.

Columbia is located between St. Louis and Kansas City. It is less than a 2 hour drive between the two.  Columbia is home to the University of Missouri and two smaller colleges. The area has a distinct college-town feel and most of the amenities that you would expect in a college town. Columbia also has an economic base in the insurance and medical technology industries. The downtown is clean and lively, the population is friendly and progressive; some say it is the Midwest with just a slight hint of the South. There are plenty of recreational opportunities.  Columbia has a regional airport with regular daily flights to Dallas and Chicago.
