Of 2018 annual meeting attendees interested in the Acute Care Surgery learning theme, 12.6% (n=48) wanted to improve their ability to identify the areas where laparoscopic skill development may benefit the acute care surgeon. At three-month follow-up, 10% of those responding (n=20) reported inability to fully implement the intended practice change.
Of 2018 annual meeting attendees interested in the Acute Care Surgery learning theme, 9.7% (n=37) wanted to improve their capability to identify which emergency general surgery patients with small bowel obstruction, incarcerated hernias, and common bile duct (CBD) stones can be managed laparoscopically. At three-month follow-up, 11.8% of those responding (n=17) reported inability to fully implement the intended practice change.
