The SAGES OR SAFETY VIDEO Activity is a series of video-based vignettes demonstrating correct functioning of the team in and around the operating room. This video series specifically addresses the roles of Surgeons in OR Safety and is a great resource for Surgeons, Residents, and Medical Students.
At the conclusion of reviewing the safety video, participants will be able to:
- List three methods to minimize the risk of OR fires (competence)
- List the important steps necessary to manage an OR fire
- List two methods to reduce the risk of electrical injury to the patient and the OR team
- Describe the appropriate “time out” process and incorporate the recommendations in their daily surgical practice.
