SAGES offers courses in gastrointestinal endoscopy and laparoscopy for residents. The topics are selected by the SAGES Resident and Fellow Training (RAFT) Committee to address the breadth and interest of SAGES Candidate Members. The courses are an educational experience designed to present the basic science and technical approaches to modern endoscopic surgery. Upcoming courses will cover traditional diagnostic and therapeutic flexible endoscopy as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques. In addition to classroom didactics, the course will also include an extensive laboratory experience.
SAGES resident course faculty includes many of the most experienced and respected endoscopic surgeons in the world. Tuition for residents will be free.
Program Directors are invited to designate a surgical resident to participate in each course. The course is designed for 2nd and 3rd year residents. Preference will be given to a SAGES Candidate members. For more information on Candidate membership, please click SAGES Candidate Membership.
We believe that the ongoing series of courses are a stimulating and productive way to further expose surgical trainees to the techniques of endoscopic surgery, to standardize their knowledge base in the area, and to provide strong educational support for the endoscopic resident education programs.
Course announcements for all SAGES resident courses are sent to all Program Directors and Resident Coordinators.
