Any media, companies, institutions and others issuing press releases are required to abide by the following embargo policies governing the SAGES Annual Meeting.
Information contained in the abstracts is embargoed until presented at the annual meeting. Coverage of information that goes beyond basic title(s), author(s), institution(s) and date and time of presentation – such as additional analysis, commentary, or updated information from those individuals and companies involved in the study – is embargoed according to the following criteria:
- Oral presentations: the embargo time is the morning of the date of the session in which the presentation is being made, or the beginning of the SAGES press briefing containing the research, whichever comes first.
- Poster presentations: the embargo lifts the morning when the poster session containing the poster is set to open for viewing or at the beginning of a SAGES press briefing containing the research, whichever comes first.
Abstracts selected for presentation at the SAGES Annual Meeting will be available in the SAGES Meeting App by March of the meeting year and on the SAGES web site by July of the meeting year. Abstracts will also be published in a supplemental issue of Surgical Endoscopy, the official journal of SAGES.
