The surgical world has changed and we are changing with it! For more than 10 years several phenomena have come together that pointed toward joint society meetings.
- New technology, emerging procedures and modalities have increased the burden of each surgeon to expand his/her educational horizons
- Medical economic factors have made it increasingly difficult to be away from the office for long periods of time
- World circumstances have made travel less appealing
- On-line education, while an enormous adjunct to learning, has not taken the place of face-to-face experience
- Industry can provide more dynamic presentations if they are saddled with fewer meetings to attend SAGES, AHPBA and ACS met to address the needs of our member surgeons as well as industry and created SURGICAL SPRING WEEK which includes:
The ACS Spring Meeting
What does it mean for general surgeons?
- In the space of one week (or less) they can attend three superb surgical meetings in one place
- Less travel
- More medical education opportunities
- Fewer days missed from the office
- Lower cost for more education
- More and varied exhibits in one place
This is a great opportunity for each of us to participate in meetings we have always wanted to attend but could not fit into our schedules.
We look forward to an extraordinary meeting and to an overwhelming response from the surgical community and industry.
