Dear Colleague,
When the IXth Annual Congress for Endosurgery in Children convenes in Atlanta next March for IPEG's Annual Meeting, it will mark several extraordinary milestones.
- Several world-expert panels have been added to the scientific program.
- A full day hands-on course is slated to share techniques of the "masters" with those who want to stay on the cutting edge.
- We meet in tandem with our colleagues from SAGES enabling both groups to teach and learn from each other. It is one of those rare opportunities to attend two meetings of vital importance in less than a week and with only one airfare.
When IPEG was founded in 1991 we focused our efforts on two primary goals:
- To assure that all pediatric surgeons have access to current information defining the best, least invasive surgical treatment.
- To encourage the development and evaluation of those treatments through peer-to-peer communication, education and research.
Surgeons from more than 15 countries have joined our membership ranks which have almost doubled this year. We've also published our first peer reviewed journal, Pediatric Endosurgery & Innovative Techniques. The challenge before us is to establish a firm base for IPEG so that we can meet and surpass our educational and research goals. The IXth Annual Congress for Endosurgery in Children which is the IPEG Annual Meeting is the most vital conduit for meeting those goals. We invite you to join us in Atlanta March 28-30, 2000 for the IPEG Congress and the Meeting of the Millennium.
Sincerely,
Steven Rothenberg, MD
President
