Perforations of the gastro-intestinal (GI) tract represent a major challenge for all surgeons. Various endoscopic tools are increasingly part of the armamentarium of the GI surgeon. Endoclips, as well as over-the-scope clips can be used in the context of acute fistulas. For chronic fistulas, plugs can be employed successfully. Stents and endoscopic suturing are excellent options in the setting of both acute and chronic fistulas. This video highlights the therapeutical use of various endoscopic tools in the management of complicated foregut and colorectal cases.
