A patient with multiple co-morbidities presented with the dual diagnosis of left-sided ischemic colitis extending to the splenic flexure and a bulky neoplasm in the distal sigmoid colon. During laparoscopic sigmoid resection, the ischemic segment was assessed using real-time intra-operative fluorescence, and novel intra-luminal application of this technique. Utilization of this approach allowed the surgeon to preserve bowel without compromising surgical outcome, as demonstrated in this video.
