Magnetic Sphincter Augmentation with a Large Hiatal Hernia

Magnetic sphincter augentation was approved by the FDA in 2012 for the treatment of uncomplicated GERD.  This excludes patients with severe esophagitis, large hiatal hernias, esophageal strictures, or other structural abnormalities.  Here we report on a modification of the MSA technique that includes repair of a large hiatal hernia.
