Laparoscopic Obturator Hernia Repair in the Setting of Incarceration and Obstruction

Michael J Passeri, MD, Scott Belsley, MD, FACS. Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital

We present a video displaying our experience with emergent laparoscopic intervention in an elderly female presenting with several days of obstructive symptoms, and found to have an incarcerated left sided obturator hernia on CT scan. Intraoperatively we found bilateral obturator hernias, as well as bilateral inguinal hernias, and we performed a hybrid TAPP/TEP repair with polypropylene mesh.
