Position Overview:

Southcoast Physicians Group is seeking a Bariatrician to join it’s collaborative team of 3 bariatric surgeons, 3 nurse practitioners, 1 physician assistant, experienced bariatric nurses, dieticians, psychologists, and great support staff. Ideal candidate will be board certified in bariatrics or board certified in IM or FM with anticipation of becoming board certified in bariatrics. Duties will include pre-op medical screening, postoperative follow-up for vertical sleeve gastrectomy and roux-en-y gastric bypass, post –operative acute visits and medical weight management of the non-surgical patients. The Bariatric Surgery program at Southcoast has been an ASMBS/MBSAQUP center of Excellence since 2006 and is the region’s largest bariatric program, completing more than 650 bariatric procedures per year. Our team consists of three bariatric /general surgeons who participate within a comprehensive program of education and care for the morbidly obese. Our allied health members include pulmonologist, psychologist, social workers, registered dieticians, and certified bariatric nurses who are specialists in the management of obesity.
