The Loyola University Health System seeks an advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon to join its team which has developed a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program for the life-long care of the bariatric patient. The Loyola Center for Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Care provides a comprehensive program of education and care for morbidly obese patients and patients with metabolic diseases, offering the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, Biliopancreatic Diversion and adjustable gastric band. The medical, psychological, nutritional, and surgical staff are specialists in the management of obesity. Candidate must be board certified in general surgery, have completed a MIS fellowship and have a primary interest in obesity treatment. The position is for a junior faculty with academic interests, including medical student and resident education, as well as clinical and translational research.
