University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics’ Section of MIS, Foregut and Bariatric Surgery is seeking applicants for a one-year clinical fellowship in Advanced MinimallyInvasive Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in an academic career in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Opportunities for both clinical and basic science research are available in the Department and School of Medicine and Public Health.
This fellowship will stress multidisciplinary management of esophageal and gastric diseases, morbid obesity and abdominal wall hernias. The fellow will gain experience with advanced laparoscopic surgery including all techniques in minimally invasive bariatric surgery including laparoscopic revisions; minimally invasive surgery and therapeutic endoscopy for esophageal and gastric diseases; and minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic ventral and inguinal hernias. The experience will offer both mentored and independent clinical responsibilities and protected research time. Successful candidates will have completed five years of residency and must be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License. Applications are now being accepted for appointment to begin July 1, 2014.
