About The Organizations
What Is SAGES?
SAGES (The Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons) was founded in 1981 to foster, promote, support and encourage academic, clinical and research achievement in gastrointestinal endoscopic surgery. SAGES currently boasts more than 5,500 general surgeon members from countries ringing the globe. SAGES annual meeting is oriented toward minimally invasive surgery and in 2008 had an attendance of 2,100 surgeons.
What Is IPEG?
IPEG (the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group) is the premiere international association for physicians who perform minimally invasive surgery in children. IPEG was founded in 1991 with a handful of pediatric surgeons. Today, IPEG has more than 600 members from over 50 countries. The IPEG annual meeting attracts over 400 surgeons and urologists from around the globe.
SAGES Exhibit Advisory Council (EAC):
SAGES EAC helps to
shape future exhibits. The EAC meets twice annually, once at the SAGES annual
meeting and once during the Fall Clinical Congress. Discussions focus on
creating and maintaining a dynamic exhibit experience. SAGES leadership attends
the meetings and participates in the discussion.
